Nick Smith Jr. posted a full line on Tuesday with 11 points (4-of-16 FGs), five rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and one triple against Sacramento.
Smith Jr. was able to contribute a little bit in every category in this game, but the shooting woes continued. He is now 8-of-33 from the floor through two games this summer, which isn’t ideal for a player heading into his second season. Smith Jr. was once a five-star prospect, but he slipped in the draft after a disappointing season at Arkansas. He didn’t have a great rookie season, even with LaMelo Ball injured. If he doesn’t turn things around this summer, it will be difficult to be optimistic about him heading into this season.

Evan Mobley logged 23 points (7-of-17 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), 13 rebounds, six assists and two three-pointers in the win over the Wizards on Friday.
While he wasn’t his usual efficient self from a shotmaking perspective, Mobley was quite impactful on the offensive end. He produced both inside and outside the arc en route to finishing with 20 or more points for the 12th time this season, and tied a team-high in assists, as well. Mobley didn’t produce any counting stats on the defensive end, which is rare for him, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Nonetheless, he put forth some strong production from a fantasy standpoint and continues to put up solid numbers overall.
HLs: Embiid has vintage performance in win vs. IND
Watch Joel Embiid score a season-high 39 points Friday night en route to a win over the Indiana Pacers for the Philadelphia 76ers.
  • IND Center #32
Jay Huff accounted for 13 points (4-of-12 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, two assists and four three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the 76ers.
  • IND Guard-Forward #2
Andrew Nembhard finished Friday’s loss to the 76ers with 18 points (6-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), five rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one three-pointer.
  • IND Forward #43
Pascal Siakam recorded 20 points (8-of-19 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Friday’s loss to the 76ers.
  • PHI Forward #8
Paul George amassed 23 points (8-of-17 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal and four three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Pacers.
  • PHI Guard #77
VJ Edgecombe shot 6-of-10 from the field and 7-of-10 from the foul line in Friday’s win over the Pacers, scoring 22 points with four rebounds, five assists, two steals and three three-pointers.
  • PHI Guard #5
Quentin Grimes accounted for 10 points (3-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Pacers.
With Tyrese Maxey (illness) unavailable, Grimes made his fifth start of the season on Friday. The rebounds and assists were encouraging, as was his recording a steal and a blocked shot. However, given Grimes’ shooting ability, fantasy managers likely hoped to get a bit more from him in the points category. If Maxey can’t play on Sunday in Atlanta, look for Grimes to remain in the starting lineup.
  • PHI Center-Forward #21
Joel Embiid finished Friday’s win over the Pacers with 39 points (12-of-23 FGs, 13-of-18 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers.
For his career, Embiid is averaging 30.9 points per game against the Pacers, so maybe we should have seen Friday’s performance coming. The former MVP was sensational on Friday, shooting over 50 percent from the field and making a more concerted effort to attack the Pacers’ defenders. That resulted in Embiid attempting 18 free throws, a sign that he may be on the right track recovery-wise. The points and minutes were season-highs for the 7-footer, who played 32 minutes. Philadelphia ends Week 8 with a game against the Hawks on Sunday.
  • CHA Forward #24
Brandon Miller finished Friday’s loss to the Bulls with 18 points (8-of-22 FGs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers.
While Miller did provide a complete stat line on Friday, the field-goal percentage remains an issue. He shot 2-of-8 from beyond the arc against the Bulls and made just under 50 percent of his two-point attempts. For the season, Miller is shooting 36.6 percent from the field, which is why he’s ranked outside the top-150 in eight-cat formats. Hopefully, he can turn it around in time, because Miller’s fantasy value suffers for that reason.
  • CLE Guard #10
Darius Garland totaled 18 points (6-of-17 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), three rebounds, six assists and two steals on Friday in the win over the Wizards.
Garland was as efficient as one could be inside the arc, shooting 6-of-6 on two-point shots, but his 0-of-11 shooting from deep left him completely unimpactful from behind the line. Yet, even with the shooting struggles, Garland was one of the Cavaliers’ highest scorers on the evening and concluded with a share of the most assists. Surely, fantasy managers will want more production from Garland going forward, but they must remain patient in the early stages of the season as he continues to work his way back from offseason toe surgery.
