Trivino expected free agency after the Orioles designated him for assignment and he went unclaimed on the waiver wire. The 34-year-old will be a depth piece for Philadelphia, and they’ll need to add him to the 40-man roster if they deem him worthy of a bullpen spot.
Brendan Donovan

Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports that the reason that Brendan Donovan was scratched from the lineup was a “load management” decision.

Usually “load management” is a term reserved for NBA players, but for Seattle, it’s about making sure Donovan doesn’t aggravate the groin injury that has seen him miss time already in 2026 and required surgery in 2025. When Donovan has played he’s been effective, but fantasy managers have to be prepared for some absences for the foreseeable future.
Juan Soto

NYM Left Fielder #22

Juan Soto went 2-for-2 with a run scored and two stolen bases in a 6-3 win for the Mets over the Yankees on Saturday.

Just hours after it was announced that he’s been dealing with discomfort in his foot, elbow and wrist; Soto was able to show they’re not bugging him too much with his second and third stolen base of the season. The 27-year-old star also drew a pair of walks, and now hitting a very solid .284/.383/.505 on the campaign. Those are pretty good numbers for the overwhelming majority of hitters, but they’re not quite what fantasy managers are hoping for with a player of Soto’s capability.
Munetaka Murakami

CWS 1st Baseman #5

Munetaka Murakami homered twice to lead the White Sox to an 8-3 win over the Cubs on Saturday.

Murakami hit two of the five homers the White Sox procured against a wholly ineffective Jameson Taillon. That brings the rookie’s season total to 17, and he also drew a walk and scored a third run for good measure. Murakami’s power is undeniable. Whether or not the severe swing-and-miss will come around to make that power not matter is still a question mark, but there’s simply no denying that impact he’s made to begin 2026.
Jose Altuve

HOU 2nd Baseman #27

Jose Altuve will undergo imaging Sunday after injuring his left side on a swing Saturday.

Nick Allen replaced him at the end of Friday’s game. If Altuve lands on the IL, the Astros could give Brice Matthews some time at second base. He’ll be less needed in the outfield with Jake Meyers and Joey Loperfido nearly ready to return. Braden Shewmake could also play some second base after Jeremy Peña is activated.
Aroldis Chapman

BOS Relief Pitcher #44

Aroldis Chapman pitched out a bases loaded jam against the Braves for his 10th save Saturday.

There wouldn’t have been a jam, except Andruw Monasterio airmailed a throw from short to first on what should have been the final out of the game. Chapman then walked two to lead the bases. Ha-Seong Kim came up and hit a 104-mph comebacker off Chapman’s right ankle. Fortunately, though, Chapman was able to gather himself, run down the ball and make the play at first. Chapman didn’t seem to favor the ankle on his way off the field, so hopefully he won’t miss any time. The save tonight was his 377th, moving him into a tie with Joe Nathan for 10th place on the all-time list.
Jake Fraley

TB Right Fielder #17

The Rays are planning on putting Jake Fraley on the injured list with a hernia.

Fraley was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with an undisclosed injury. Jacob Melton is hurt in Triple-A, so Carson Williams might be the choice to replace Fraley on the Tampa Bay roster. Richie Palacios, who has been mostly starting at second base, could move to right field to replace Fraley, opening up infield starts for Williams and Ben Williamson.
Gerrit Cole

NYY Starting Pitcher #45

Gerrit Cole allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and struck out six for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Cole’s sixth minor league rehab start saw him throw 86 pitches and walk one batter. He averaged 97.0 mph with his fastball, which is 1.1 mph better than when he was last seen in 2024. It sure seems like he would have been fine to rejoin the rotation this weekend had the Yankees wanted him to. As is, though, he’s slated to make a seventh rehab start next week before being activated.
Blake Snell

LAD Starting Pitcher #7

Blake Snell will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies from his left elbow Tuesday, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Roberts was not sure if the operation will be the same that Tarik Skubal underwent, which carries a 4-6 week recovery timeline. If he did undergo that procedure, it would put him out through at least July, with a return after the All-Star break the most likely outcome. River Ryan is expected to take Snell’s place in the rotation in the meantime. When healthy, Snell is one of the best in baseball, but it’s yet another season that will be shortened substantially due to injury.
Sandy Alcantara

MIA Starting Pitcher #22

Sandy Alcatara allowed one run -- zero earned -- and struck out six batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

Alcantara tossed two scoreless innings, then gave up one unearned run on two hits in the third. He settled in for three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with six strikeouts. It was the first start in which Alcantara allowed fewer than two runs since April 1. The 30-year-old right-hander will carry a 3.53 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 45/20 K/BB ratio across 63 2/3 innings into a start against the Braves in Miami on Thursday.
