  • SEA Shortstop #85

The encouraging development here is that Emerson was able to resume swinging a bat and is optimistic heโ€™ll avoid a trip to the injured list. The 20-year-old top prospect is sitting out his third consecutive game due to back tightness with Cole Young drawing another start at shortstop. Emerson is presumably day-to-day heading into Thursdayโ€™s series finale in Baltimore.
  • CWS Center Fielder #92
Montgomery also had an RBI single in the fourth, but obviously thatโ€™s not the headline. The 23-year-old came to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the tenth and the White Sox trailing by one, and he connected on his first MLB roundtripper to give Chicago the walk-off win. Montgomery is one of the best outfield prospects in the sport, and while fantasy managers have to be prepared for ups and downs from the outfielder in his rookie campaign, the talent is obvious. Heโ€™s absolutely worthy of roster consideration right now.
  • MIL Center Fielder
The long-term agreement, which was previously reported by ESPNโ€™s Jeff Passan to be worth $31 million with the potential to max out at $79 million, is now official. ara becomes the third member of Milwaukeeโ€™s young core to sign an extension prior to his big-league debut, joining franchise cornerstone Jackson Chourio and shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt. The 21-year-old top prospect already projects as an elite defensive centerfielder and is putting together a breakthrough offensive season at Triple-A Nashville, slashing .338/.447/.500 with seven homers and 18 steals in 56 games in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. Thereโ€™s a strong possibility he reaches the majors at some point later this summer, and he offers enough power/speed upside to warrant monitoring in deeper formats once he arrives.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Naylor catapulted Seattle ahead for good with a no-doubter to right field off Orioles reliever Anthony Nunez with two outs in the fifth inning. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season and second time heโ€™s gone deep in six contests since the start of June. Heโ€™s hitting a robust .333 (8-for-24) with six RBI during that span.
  • PIT Shortstop #85
It turns out that Griffin is dealing with a โ€œflexor mass muscle strain,โ€ which means the location of his injury has changed. Cherington said that, given the exact spot of the injury, the team is going to be more cautious with their top prospectโ€™s return. On the positive side, Griffin is asymptomatic at this point, but there are no further details about his return other than that it will be a bit longer than originally expected.
  • BAL Catcher #29
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz told reporters Basallo is dealing with a left wrist issue that heโ€™s been playing through for some time. He added that he doesnโ€™t believe it will require surgery. Thereโ€™s no indication heโ€™ll require a trip to the injured list at this time. Basallo will receive some extra time off following his involvement in a home-plate collision during Sundayโ€™s series finale against the Blue Jays that led to his early exit from the contest. The 21-year-old former top prospect also missed time earlier in the series with an abdominal issue. Thereโ€™s a lot to unpack here. Itโ€™ll be Sam Huff handling the catching duties with Adley Rutschman also receiving a day off.
  • NYM Right Fielder #3
Benge has his best major league game to date for a second time in a week. The first was when he homered twice against the Mariners on Tuesday. This one was probably more fulfilling, since it came in a victory. It raised his average from .248 to .265 and his OPS from .682 to .733. Bengeโ€™s balls in play ranged from 94.9 mph to 106.4 mph, which produced a 389-foot homer. The triple, on a grounder that made it into the right field corner, was his first as a major leaguer.
  • CHC Center Fielder #4
Crow-Armstrong kept the Cubs alive, with his second homer tying things up with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. After a scoreless top of the 10th, the Cubs won the game right away on a Michael Busch single and an error in the bottom of the inning. Automatic runner Dansby Swanson was going to be held at third on the shot to right, but Victor Bericoto booted the ball to allow Swanson to score. PCA now has four homers in his last four games and an 11-game hitting streak. Heโ€™s up to .259/.343/.449 for the season.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #11
Sasaki finally had his best stuff on display on Friday, holding the Angels scoreless over seven innings. He allowed just two hits and two walks while generating an impressive 17 whiffs to collect 10 strikeouts. It was by far the best regular-season start of Sasakiโ€™s career. The 24-year-old right-hander seems to be putting things together, rewarding the Dodgersโ€™ faith in him with a 1.48 ERA over his last four starts. Sasaki will take a 4.03 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 60/21 K/BB ratio across 58 innings into a start against the White Sox in Chicago next Friday.
  • SF 3rd Baseman #26
Chapman started with a grand slam off Edward Cabrera in the fourth inning, knocking a hanging curve just barely into the left-center nets at Wrigley for a 382-foot blast. He added a three-run shot off Ethan Roberts in the sixth, denting a sign in left field to keep it from heading out on to Waveland at 432 feet. His other RBI came on a sacrifice fly. This is an MLB-best RBI total for this season so far, topping Luke Raleyโ€™s seven against the White Sox on May 8. Chapman is starting to heat up (obviously), with a .309/.381/.564 line and three homers over his last 15 games. Heโ€™s still trying to recover from a frigid late April-early May stretch where he went hitless for seven games, but his .241 season average is now in line with what weโ€™d generally expect from him going forward.
