Langford is back at DH and hitting second on Tuesday night in West Sacramento following a three-game absence due to a minor quad strain. The 24-year-old outfielder has struggled to get going at the plate this season, hitting .170 (9-for-53) with one homer, three RBI and one steal through 13 games. It’s only a matter of time before he turns it around. The encouraging development for fantasy managers is that he managed to avoid a trip to the injured list.

No word yet on how much time Pivetta will miss. The 33-year-old veteran has presumably undergone an MRI to determine the severity of the issue and there should be a clearer timetable at some point this week. He was lifted from Sunday’s start against the Rockies after firing three shutout frames. It’ll be Matt Waldron coming up to take his spot in San Diego’s rotation.

The bigger concern here is that Imai told reporters through an interpreter on Tuesday that he hasn’t been able to adjust to an American lifestyle in terms of baseball and outside of baseball citing travel and team meals as specific aspects of the transition he’s been struggling with. It’s not great. The 27-year-old starter is clearly going to need some extended time away from the club to focus on getting right both physically and mentally. At this point, it’s challenging to envision him making a significant fantasy impact this season based on his comments and on-field performance.

Strider is expected to throw roughly 40-45 pitches during his rehab debut. The 27-year-old former fantasy ace will need at least a handful of tune-up outings before he’s ready to make his season debut, likely at some point in early May. He’s been on the shelf recovering from an oblique strain since the late stages of spring training.

Schultz will make his MLB debut in a start against the Rays on Tuesday. The 22-year-old has electric stuff and forged a 19/2 K/BB over 14 innings with Charlotte, but he’s battled command issues in the past. There’s upside because of his swing-and-miss stuff, but fantasy managers have to acknowledge the volatility.

Yelich’s original injury designation with hamstring tightness, but imaging revealed the strain. The 34-year-old will reportedly be out until the middle of May and possibly longer. Greg Jones has called up to take Yelich’s spot on the roster, and Gary Sanchez should see most of the starts at DH for the time being.

Wrobleski only struck out two, but he didn’t walk anyone while giving up just a pair of singles. There were 10 balls hit off the 25-year-old that were considered hard hits, but his ability to command the strike zone a long with a smidgen of luck carried the way against the anemic Mets’ lineup. Wrobleski will likely make at least one more start, and it would be Monday in Colorado against the Rockies.

It’s always nice to enjoy a double burger every once in a while. Burger took Luis Severino deep twice; once on a solo shot, the other a three-run blast. The 30-year-old’s second season with Texas is off to a better start than his first campaign, and he’s now up to 11 RBI with a .492 slugging percentage through 15 games.

It comes in a losing effort, but it’s another impressive outing for Walker. His eighth homer of the season came in the sixth inning off Gavin Williams, and it would have left every park in baseball according to Baseball Savant with an exit velocity of 107.6 mph. Yes the sample is small, and yes, Walker’s previous struggles can’t completely be ignored, but this is a 23-year-old with some of thes best bat-speed in the sport who has flashes his unreal talent even in his poor campaigns. This has been fun to watch. The question is if he can be a semblance of this player for the rest of 2026/beyond.

Finally, some run support. Skenes received a whopping 16 runs from Pittsburgh’s offense after serving up a solo homer to CJ Abrams in the opening frame and was able to cruise to his third win of the season. He appears to have made an adjustment to generate significantly more horizontal break on his sweeper than in previous outings this season and he also leaned more heavily on his changeup than before. He generated 15 swinging strikes and needed just 88 pitches (60 strikes) to complete six frames, lowering his full-season ERA from 5.25 to 4.00 in the process. He’ll close out a two-start week with a favorable home outing against the Rays on Saturday afternoon.
