The expectation is that this won’t be a long stint on the IL, but Michael King also “slept on his arm wrong” last year and wound up missing almost three months with a nerve issue. While Iglesias is out, Robert Suarez becomes a top-five closer option in fantasy baseball and needs to be added everywhere. Hopefully the Iglesias manager already scooped him up last week when the injury first popped up.

If you’re going to pick up your first win with your new team, you might as well strike out a dozen in the process. That’s just good manners. Cease was able to get 18 swings-and-misses on his offerings, and he issued just two walks. While it is his first win, that says more about the lack of run support than anything he’s done wrong; he now sports a 2.10 ERA and a 44/19 K/BB over his first 25 2/3 innings with the Jays. The only complaint here is that because Cease needed to throw 110 pitches, he wasn’t able to get deeper into the game. He should obviously be in fantasy lineups for Sunday’s scheduled tilt against the Guardians.

Muncy and Dalton Rushing both hit a pair of homers, with Muncy’s coming off Jose Quintana and Tanner Gordon. Remarkably, Muncy now has eight homers on the season, but only nine RBI. Seems impossible, but to say the 35-year-old is off to a hot start is an understatement. Those RBI totals should continue to rise for Muncy playing in the loaded Dodgers lineup.

Acuña underwent imaging out of an abundance of caution after being drilled on the left hand during the sixth inning of Monday’s showdown against the Nationals. The 28-year-old fantasy superstar was hit by pitches twice during the contest and finished 0-for-1 with a run scored prior to exiting. It’s possible he’ll need some time off to rest and recover but the encouraging development here for Atlanta, and fantasy managers, is that Acuña appears to have avoided serious injury.

Cotillo adds that Tyler Samaniego will be called up on Tuesday to take Gray’s roster spot and fortify Boston’s relief corps. The 36-year-old veteran is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of hamstring issue that led to his early exit from Monday’s start against the Tigers after just 2 2/3 innings. It’s not official yet, but all signs point to top pitching prospect Payton Tolle coming up to fill his rotation spot against the Orioles this weekend. The hard-throwing 23-year-old southpaw needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats based on his strikeout upside.

It’s a significant loss for the Dodgers, and fantasy managers, with Díaz sidelined until after the All-Star break in mid-July, according to a team statement. The 32-year-old closer was diagnosed with loose bodies in his throwing elbow after experiencing diminished velocity during a relief appearance against the Rockies over the weekend and was placed on the injured list Monday. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts refused to name a replacement, which means it will likely be a combination of Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia and Blake Treinen handling closing duties in his absence. Scott, who boasts a 1.04 ERA this season and has converted 78 career saves, stands out as the strongest fantasy option of the trio.

It’s an extremely encouraging report after Abel unexpectedly hit the injured list earlier on Monday. The 24-year-old appeared to be in the early stages of a breakout campaign, reeling off 13 scoreless frames with a 16/3 K/BB ratio across 13 innings over his past two starts. He’s likely to face a multi-week absence, even in a best-case scenario, but it doesn’t sound like preliminary imaging turned up any structural damage that could’ve led to surgery. It’ll likely be intriguing prospect Connor Prielipp taking his spot in Minnesota’s rotation.

It’s a tough break for the Mariners, and fantasy managers, since Donovan was off to a phenomenal start at the dish in his Seattle debut, slashing a robust .304/.437/.518 with three homers, eight RBI and one steal through 18 games. The versatile 29-year-old appears unlikely to require a lengthy absence since top prospect Colt Emerson wasn’t brought up to take over at third base. He’ll get some extra time off to put a lingering groin and hip issue to bed after implying that he believes they may be related to the sports hernia surgery he underwent last October. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point in the near future. It’ll be Leo Rivas taking over at the hot corner as a temporary stopgap in his absence.

However, Connor Prielipp could also be given a chance to fill in for Abel since he’s in New York on the taxi squad. Prielipp is a bit more exciting from a fantasy standpoint, so if he is given the start on Tuesday, he could be worth a waiver add, even if you just stash him on your bench for the first start.
