It was a rare quiet night for the Yankees’ offense as Nathan Eovaldi completely shut them down. Well, almost completely. He couldn’t stop Judge from launching a homer beyond the center field wall that would account for their only run on the night. That long ball was Judge’s 15th of the season, which pushed him ahead of Munetaka Murakami for most in the league. Those 15 home runs go along with a 1.066 OPS, yet it still feels like business as usual for Judge.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #55
Quatraro added that Ragans was lifted for precautionary reasons after experiencing triceps and elbow soreness while throwing three scoreless innings on 58 pitches on Wednesday against the Guardians. The 28-year-old southpaw, who dealt with some diminished fastball velocity in this outing, will undergo additional evaluation and imaging to ensure that he’s not dealing with anything serious. It sounds like there’s a chance he avoids the injured list and takes the ball against the White Sox on Tuesday.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #40
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Weathers has been sick recently and will slot back into the rotation against the Orioles on Monday. The 26-year-old told reporters he lost nearly 10 pounds due to a viral infection that threw off his typical routine between starts. It’ll likely be a bullpen game on Thursday against the Rangers with long reliever Paul Blackburn taking the ball to kick things off.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #25
Alonso kicked off the scoring with a 403-foot moonshot to left-center field off Marlins starter Eury Pérez in the opening frame. It was his fourth round-tripper in his last nine games. The 31-year-old slugger has really turned it on recently, hitting .412 (7-for-17) in six games since the start of May.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #59
Valdez presumably agreed to drop his pending appeal and take a reduced suspension from the league. The 32-year-old southpaw will not be eligible to pitch again until Wednesday, May 13 against the Mets. He was slated to take the ball against the Royals on Sunday. Detroit will not be able to replace him on their roster during his absence. He received the five-game ban for throwing at Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story after coughing up back-to-back homers during an ugly meltdown on Tuesday night at Comerica Park.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Roberts added that Glasnow will undergo a precautionary MRI to rule out anything serious after he experienced back spasms that led to his removal from Wednesday’s start against the Astros after just one inning. There should be a clearer idea of his status at some point later this week, but early indications are that Glasnow will make his next start against the Giants next Wednesday.
  • LAD Center Fielder #44
Pages had a three-run homer off Lance McCullers Jr. in the third, a two-run blast off Jason Alexander in the fifth and then a solo shot off catcher Cesar Salazar in the ninth. He joins teammate Max Muncy as the only players with three-homer games this year. It’s his third career mulithomer game, and he bested his previous high for RBI by two. He’s batting .336 with eight homers on the season.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #15
Pagán has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain and is expected to miss roughly 4-8 weeks. The -year-old stopper told reporters he thought he tore his hamstring and that his season was over when he hobbled off the mound after throwing a pitch during Tuesday’s relief appearance against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. He’s facing an extended absence, but his season isn’t over. It’ll likely be either Tony Santillan or Graham Ashcraft taking over the closer role for Cincinnati during his absence.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #93
It’s happening. The worst-kept secret in baseball for the last few days has been that Snelling was going to be brought up to make his big-league debut after Miami finally jettisoned Chris Paddack from their rotation. It became undeniable after Braxton Garrett made his scheduled start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday night. The 22-year-old southpaw is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and has outstanding at Triple-A Jacksonville this season with a microscopic 1.86 ERA and 44/15 K/BB ratio across 29 innings. There will be some of the usual growing pains for a talented young arm acclimating to life in the majors, but Snelling offers enough strikeout upside that he should be rostered in all fantasy formats.
  • NYY 1st Baseman #22
There’s been no indication that Rice is headed to the injured list as he continues to receive treatment for a left hand bruise that he suffered over the weekend. There should be a clearer picture regarding his availability leading into Thursday’s series finale. It’s possible the Yankees are merely handling the situation with an abundance of caution to make sure Rice, who is rapidly blossoming into one of the elite sluggers in baseball, is fully healthy before he returns to the lineup. It’ll be veteran Paul Goldschmidt taking over at first base to face Rangers ace Nathan Eovaldi on Wednesday night.
