If today was Rick Nash’s final game as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, he closed it out with a loss and a highlight goal. Nash got the Blue Jackets on the board first in the first period with a shorthanded goal on Penguins rookie netminder Brad Thiessen.

Check out what might wind up being the final highlight in Nash’s Columbus career.

After the game, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch heard from Nash about his trade deadline limbo status and he’s still preaching the company line (via Twitter).

“It’s been a great time living in Columbus. I’m a Blue Jacket today and we’re going to do everything we can to move forward as a team. Like I said the other day, these fans deserve a winning team. They’re the ones that have been the most patient.”

When Nash was asked about the possibility entered his mind that today’s 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh was his final game as a Blue Jacket, Portzline says Nash answered quickly, “Not at all.”
