  • SF Running Back #25
Mitchell injured his knee in Thursday’s practice and did not practice on Friday. His absence on Friday would leave us to believe he’s on the wrong side of playing in Week 4, although we may not know for sure until closer to kickoff. The oft-injured running back rushed 11 times for 42 yards in Week 3 after recording a zero snap outing in Week 2, but would be hard to trust even if active.
  • SF Wide Receiver #11
Good for the 49ers, who are certain to have at least one of their starting receivers for the week. There’s a good chance Deebo Samuel (ribs/knee) still suits up, but Samuel didn’t practice all week and was handed a questionable tag going into the weekend. Aiyuk will have fringe WR2/WR3 upside against the Cardinals, but would be a near lock as a WR2 if Samuel were to sit.
  • ARI Running Back #6
Conner was limited in practice throughout the week but is ready to go for Week 4 against the 49ers. Serving as the Cardinals’ bell cow back through the first three weeks of the season, Conner should have another busy week against a stout 49ers defense as the Cardinals look to push their record to 2-2. Conner will be a volume-based RB2 play in a tough matchup.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #2
Brown popped up on the Cardinals injury report on Thursday after injuring his thumb in practice. He was able to log a limited practice on Friday, so the hope is he’ll be able to go in Week 4 against the 49ers. Brown has 14 receptions for 143 yards and two touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season, and is averaging just over seven targets per game. He’d be a fringe WR3 against a stout 49ers defense.
  • LV Quarterback #10
Simply put, Garoppolo will need to clear concussion protocol to play on Sunday. He’s been a limited participant in the team’s last two practices, but that’s a moot point as long as he remains in protocol. If Garoppolo doesn’t play, veteran Brian Hoyer is expected to start against the Chargers. Fantasy managers in need of Garoppolo’s services should have a backup plan in place.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #6
Smith was never really a risk to miss Week 4. The third-year receiver popped up on Thursday’s injury report with an illness, but was back on the field Friday to close things out. Smith should have a shot at WR2 production against the Commanders despite an underwhelming Week 3 outing against the Buccaneers.
  • LAC Running Back #30
Ekeler practiced throughout the week but is now extremely unlikely to go in Week 4. With a Week 5 bye week on tap, the Chargers are opting for prudence and giving Ekeler two more weeks of rest before a Week 6 date with the Cowboys. Joshua Kelley will once again serve as the Chargers’ RB1, though he’s underwhelmed to the tune of 24 rushes for 51 yards over the last two weeks. Kelley would be a volume-based, low-end RB2.
  • SF Wide Receiver #11
Aiyuk has been limited in every practiced throughout the week and has a good chance of playing in Week 4 against the Cardinals. Aiyuk’s return could be crucial for the 49ers, as Deebo Samuel (ribs/knee) has yet to practice this week and is at risk of missing the game. Aiyuk could operate as the 49ers WR1 if he’s active and Samuel is held out, which should be enough to lock him in as a top-24 play this week.
  • SF Wide Receiver #19
Samuel has not practiced all week despite being ruled as day-to-day by head coach Kyle Shanahan earlier this week. Samuel is nursing multiple injuries suffered in Week 3’s win over the Giants, and is at legitimate risk of missing Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Cardinals. We’ll see what kind of injury designation he carries heading into the weekend, but things are off to a sub-optimal start.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #7
Odell Beckham will also miss Week 4. That puts Nelson Agholor in the WR2 chair for Baltimore. Agholor has nine catches for 102 yards and a score over the past two weeks. He will enter the mix as a WR4 for Week 4. Bateman was playing a limited role to start the year and is now banged up, likely forcing the team to keep him on a pitch count whenever he returns. Fantasy managers can cut him loose on the next run of waivers.
