Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters there are no plans to place Anthony on the injured list after he was evaluated by a hand specialist on Tuesday. The 21-year-old prodigy figures to miss a couple additional games this week, including the club’s final two games in Detroit. However, he isn’t facing an extended absence, which is an extremely positive development after there was some real concern initially. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point later this week.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Raleigh is back at DH following a three-game absence due to right side tightness. It’s an extremely encouraging development for Seattle, and fantasy managers, after there was real concern he would require a trip to the injured list. The 29-year-old backstop has gotten off to a frosty start at the plate after breaking nearly every conceivable offensive record for a catcher last year, but he still has supplied seven homers, 18 RBI and two steals in 33 games this season.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
The widely-held expectation is that Skubal is facing a roughly three-month absence, which would keep him on the shelf until the All-Star break in mid-July. However, the Tigers are expected to provide a definitive timetable following the procedure. The 29-year-old back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner had been pitching with loose bodies in his elbow all season, but the issue finally became unmanageable last week, which led to the decision to have surgery. There should be an official return timeline at some point later this week.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
It’s the best-case scenario for Minnesota, and fantasy managers, as Ryan was able to play catch without any issues on Tuesday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday. There’s a strong possibility the 29-year-old upper-echelon fantasy starter is ready to take the ball against the Guardians on Saturday after leaving his previous outing with elbow soreness. There should be a definitive update on his status for his next start following Wednesday’s bullpen session.
  • NYY 1st Baseman #22
This is now the second straight game that Rice has missed since suffering a “contusion” in Sunday’s game. The Yankees have not put him on the injured list, so he could return later this week. For now, Paul Goldschmidt will continue to play first base.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #26
Iglesias landed on the injured list on April 21st, so he hasn’t been sidelined for too long. He will return to his late-inning role in the Braves’ bullpen. Given that Igleasias is dealing with a shoulder issue, we wouldn’t go ahead and drop Robert Suarez right away. It makes sense to see how Iglesias looks for a performance or two before moving on from Suarez in fantasy leagues.
  • NYM Left Fielder #22
The game will now take place at 3:10 pm ET on Thursday. Additionally, Wednesday’s game has been pushed back to 9:20 pm ET to avoid inclement weather.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #5
Of course he did. Murakami also didn’t strike out, which is nice to see from a player who has already whiffed 50 times. It’s tough to be mad at that strikeout total when you’re hitting the ball over the fence as often as he is, and he took José Soriano deep for his 14th homer of the campaign. There are going to be moments where Murakami’s swing-and-miss makes him a borderline unplayable option, but he’s at the very least proven that power he showed in Japan can certainly play at this level. This has been very impressive. Obvious point is obvious.
  • MIL Center Fielder #11
Chourio also walked. It was the first game of the season for Chourio after missing six weeks to begin the year due to a hand fracture, and outside of the fact that the Brewers didn’t win, it couldn’t have gone much better. Two of the hits were doubles, and both of those extra-base hits were clocked above 108 mph in exit velocity. Chourio probably won’t hit 1.000 on the year, but the 22-year-old offers enormous upside in his right-handed bat, and more games like this are likely.
  • BOS Left Fielder #19
Tracy added that Anthony is heading back to Boston to undergo further evaluation with a hand specialist out of an abundance of caution, which means he’s going to miss at least a couple games, even if he manages to avoid a trip to the injured list. The 21-year-old rising star left Monday’s game against the Tigers with right wrist discomfort following an awkward swing in his first at-bat. It’s obviously a positive initial update, but fantasy managers should have some additional clarity later this week.
