There should be an update on his status soon.

The 36-year-old veteran is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of hamstring issue that led to his early exit from Monday’s start against the Tigers after just 2 2/3 innings. It’s not official yet, but all signs point to top pitching prospect Payton Tolle coming up to fill his rotation spot against the Orioles this weekend. The hard-throwing 23-year-old southpaw needs to be rostered in all fantasy formats based on his strikeout upside.

It’s a significant loss for the Dodgers, and fantasy managers, with Díaz sidelined until after the All-Star break in mid-July, according to a team statement. The 32-year-old closer was diagnosed with loose bodies in his throwing elbow after experiencing diminished velocity during a relief appearance against the Rockies over the weekend and was placed on the injured list Monday. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts refused to name a replacement, which means it will likely be a combination of Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia and Blake Treinen handling closing duties in his absence. Scott, who boasts a 1.04 ERA this season and has converted 78 career saves, stands out as the strongest fantasy option of the trio.

It’s an extremely encouraging report after Abel unexpectedly hit the injured list earlier on Monday. The 24-year-old appeared to be in the early stages of a breakout campaign, reeling off 13 scoreless frames with a 16/3 K/BB ratio across 13 innings over his past two starts. He’s likely to face a multi-week absence, even in a best-case scenario, but it doesn’t sound like preliminary imaging turned up any structural damage that could’ve led to surgery. It’ll be intriguing prospect Kendry Rojas, who came over in the Louis Varland trade with the Blue Jays last year, taking his spot in the Twins rotation for now.

It’s a tough break for the Mariners, and fantasy managers, since Donovan was off to a phenomenal start at the dish in his Seattle debut, slashing a robust .304/.437/.518 with three homers, eight RBI and one steal through 18 games. The versatile 29-year-old appears unlikely to require a lengthy absence since top prospect Colt Emerson wasn’t brought up to take over at third base. He’ll get some extra time off to put a lingering groin and hip issue to bed after implying that he believes they may be related to the sports hernia surgery he underwent last October. There should be a definitive return timetable at some point in the near future. It’ll be Leo Rivas taking over at the hot corner as a temporary stopgap in his absence.

It’s not what you want to hear. Cash didn’t describe it as a setback, but it’s hardly an encouraging update as Pepiot figures to either be shut down from throwing to allow the right hip issue to subside or be sent for imaging to determine whether he’s dealing with any structural issues. The 28-year-old is on the injured list until at least late May and received an injection earlier this month to address inflammation. It’s extremely challenging to forecast when he’ll be ready to return to Tampa Bay’s rotation, but it doesn’t appear to be anytime soon.

It seems like the left-hander may get the chance to pitch bulk innings on Tuesday, which would have been Abel’s spot in the rotation. However, Connor Prielipp could also be given a chance to fill in for Abel since he’s in New York on the taxi squad. Prielipp is a bit more exciting from a fantasy standpoint, so if he is given the start on Tuesday, he could be worth a waiver add, even if you just stash him on your bench for the first start.

Harris has been hitting the ball hard since day one this season, but he wasn’t getting results before his trip to the paternity list on Apr. 11. Since returning Monday, he’s 8-for-18 with two homers and three walks, pushing up to .290/.338/.478 for the season. Statcast thinks he should be slugging up over .600, given his career-best exit velocity numbers. His hard-hit rate is 54 percent.

Ohtani’s double extended his on-base streak to 51 games. The 31-year-old has doubled four times in 2026, and he’s up to 11 RBI from the leadoff spot in 21 games.

It was Díaz’s first appearance in nine days, and it looked like the rust effected him. His fastball velocity was down with a few 93 mph offerings — he did reach 97 mph a couple of times, to be fair — and his command was awful. He allowed three hits and a walk before exiting, and two runs scored after he exited the contest. The results are ugly, the velocity and lack of movement on his pitches are more concerning.
