Burleson was hitting fifth against a lefty in Jordan Wicks tonight. The Cardinals first tried that on Friday after batting Burleson exclusively third and fourth previously. Burleson’s RBI in the first came on a little infield flare that dropped over the pitcher’s head but still turned into a groundout. His RBI single in the third was also pretty light; he dropped a ball down the line in shallow left that Ian Happ might have made a diving attempt on but decided against it at the last second. So, he got his runs batted in on balls hit 38 mph and 77 mph, respectively. He’s driven in 38 runs on the season, which is tied for 15th in MLB.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #32
The Astros loaded the bases in the third, but that was really their only threat today. They totaled one baserunner over the other eight innings of the game. Misiorowski finishes off his ridiculous May at 5-0 with a 0.23 ERA and a 57/6 K/BB in 38 1/3 innings. It’s one of the best months from any pitcher this century, yet it probably won’t win NL Pitcher of the Month because Cristopher Sánchez went without allowing a run. Misiorowski will pitch at Coors Field next time out, but that really shouldn’t scare anyone besides the Rockies.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
The two-homer, two-steal game is a first for Acuña and just the 23rd time it’s happened in major league history. Juan Soto on Aug. 30 and Mickey Moniak on Sept. 7 both did it last year, and Shohei Ohtani accomplished it in his absurd 6-for-6, three-homer, 10-RBI game on Sept. 19, 2024. Chipper Jones in 1999, Rafael Furcal in 2005 and Ender Inciarte in 2017 were the previous Braves to pull off the feat. Acuña has homered in three straight games and is up to .246/.369/.419 on the season.
  • CWS 1st Baseman #5
It’s a significant hit for Chicago and fantasy managers as Murakami will remain on the shelf until at least late June, even in a best-case scenario. There’s a chance he’s out until around the All-Star break in mid-July. The 26-year-old power-hitter was putting together a phenomenal rookie campaign, slashing .240/.378/.560 with 43 runs scored, 20 homers, 41 RBI and one stolen base across 246 plate appearances through 57 games. There are some lingering contact concerns in his profile, but he’s looked like an over-the-fence power threat so far. There should be a clearer return timetable once he’s cleared to begin ramping up baseball activities. It’ll be Miguel Vargas moving over to cover first base with breakout prospect Jacob Gonzalez getting a chance with the White Sox in a multi-position role.
  • CWS Shortstop
Gonzalez gets the call to the majors on his 24th birthday, replacing an injured Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) after a torrid stretch on the doorstep of the majors, slashing .317/.419/.688 with a career-high 19 homers and eight steals across 238 plate appearances over 52 games. He’s absent from Saturday’s lineup with lefty Framber Valdez taking the ball for Detroit. The versatile infielder Chicago’s first-round pick back in 2023 and was a bit of an afterthought prior to this season’s unexpected power breakthrough. It’s worth noting that Triple-A Charlotte was the most pitcher-friendly environment in entire International League last year, according to Baseball America’s park factors. There’s enough evidence based on a noticeable uptick in exit velocity this season to suggest that Gonzalez has made a legitimate breakthrough and could be an impactful fantasy contributor in deeper mixed leagues.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #39
Pérez underwent an MRI that revealed a strain in the thigh muscle in his right leg. The 23-year-old suffered the injury while stretching between innings during Wednesday’s start against the Blue Jays. It’s a brutal development for the Marlins and fantasy managers as the injury is likely to keep him sidelined until at least late July. It’s a bit unclear how Miami plans to fill his rotation spot as their starting pitching depth has suddenly become razor-thin after losing top prospects Robby Snelling (elbow) and Thomas White (shoulder) to injury.
  • SEA Shortstop #3
In addition to the two homers, Crawford — who has not exactly wowed with his defense over the past few years — also made a game-saving play on a diving stop in the top of the tenth. He came around to score his fourth run of the game in the bottom of the frame on a walk-off hit from Randy Arozarena. Crawford has homered nine times in 2026 while forging a solid .741 OPS. He’s a much different player at this stage of his career, but the power and plate skills make him worthy of roster consideration.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Tovar homered in the eighth to get the Rockies to within a run at 4-3. The 24-year-old gave the Rockies the win and also improved his homer total to four with a two-run blast off Caleb Kilian that completed the comeback win for Colorado, as the Rockies entered that inning trailing 6-3. Tovar has struggled for most of the year, but he’s homered three times this week, and he’s shown the ability — in spurts anyway — to be a fantasy factor.
  • PIT Center Fielder #15
Cruz got a cutter over the heart of the plate and didn’t miss, sending a majestic blast into the Allegheny River over the right-field fence at PNC Park. It’s just the seventh round-tripper to reach the iconic river in the ballpark’s 25-year history, according to MLB.com’s Aiden Stepansky. The incredible feats of strength are nothing new for Cruz, but he’s made strides against left-handed pitching and boasts the highest hard-hit rate of his career so far. He’s up to 12 homers and 17 stelas in 252 plate appearances through 56 games. That’ll work.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #17
Let’s start with the bad news. Jones served up a solo homer to Kody Clemens and a two-run blast to Trevor Larnach a couple frames later, with both long balls coming against his fastball. Not great. There were some positive takeaways for the dynamic 24-year-old as he averaged 99 mph on his fastball and topped out at 101.5 mph in his first major-league start since September 27, 2024. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out two free passes. Jones remains a work in progress after missing last season recovering from Tommy John surgery, but his talent and strikeout upside are undeniable, which makes him worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy leagues. He’ll make his next start against the Astros at Daikin Park on Thursday.
