Iglesias landed on the injured list on April 21st, so he hasn’t been sidelined for too long. He will return to his late-inning role in the Braves’ bullpen. Given that Igleasias is dealing with a shoulder issue, we wouldn’t go ahead and drop Robert Suarez right away. It makes sense to see how Iglesias looks for a performance or two before moving on from Suarez in fantasy leagues.
  • CWS 3rd Baseman #5
Of course he did. Murakami also didn’t strike out, which is nice to see from a player who has already whiffed 50 times. It’s tough to be mad at that strikeout total when you’re hitting the ball over the fence as often as he is, and he took José Soriano deep for his 14th homer of the campaign. There are going to be moments where Murakami’s swing-and-miss makes him a borderline unplayable option, but he’s at the very least proven that power he showed in Japan can certainly play at this level. This has been very impressive. Obvious point is obvious.
  • MIL Center Fielder #11
Chourio also walked. It was the first game of the season for Chourio after missing six weeks to begin the year due to a hand fracture, and outside of the fact that the Brewers didn’t win, it couldn’t have gone much better. Two of the hits were doubles, and both of those extra-base hits were clocked above 108 mph in exit velocity. Chourio probably won’t hit 1.000 on the year, but the 22-year-old offers enormous upside in his right-handed bat, and more games like this are likely.
  • BOS Left Fielder #19
Tracy added that Anthony is heading back to Boston to undergo further evaluation with a hand specialist out of an abundance of caution, which means he’s going to miss at least a couple games, even if he manages to avoid a trip to the injured list. The 21-year-old rising star left Monday’s game against the Tigers with right wrist discomfort following an awkward swing in his first at-bat. It’s obviously a positive initial update, but fantasy managers should have some additional clarity later this week.
  • SF 1st Baseman #8
It’s official. Eldridge is at DH and hitting seventh in his season debut against the division-rival Padres on Monday night at Oracle Park. The power-hitting 21-year-old top prospect struggled in his first taste of the big leagues last year, but he’s one of the most intriguing potential middle-of-the-order impact hitters to come through the minors in a few years. He’ll need to prove he can make enough contact and get to his immense raw power frequently enough to matter for fantasy purposes. He’s more of a deep-league lottery ticket at the moment, but he’s the type of elite talent that could make a leap very quickly if everything comes together for him.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #59
Duran will return to solidify the back-end of Philadelphia’s bullpen after missing just over two weeks with a left oblique strain. The electrifying 28-year-old stopper was off to a brilliant start this season with a microscopic 1.35 ERA across 6 2/3 innings of work. Fantasy managers should make sure to get him back in lineups this week.
  • SEA Catcher #29
Seattle handled the Raleigh situation with extreme caution over the weekend, holding him out of two games due to right-side tightness. He could still require a trip to the injured list, but no move has been made yet. The 29-year-old slugging backstop underwent an MRI that should clarify the severity of the issue and whether additional time off will be necessary. A clearer update on his status is expected before Monday’s series opener at T-Mobile Park.
  • MIL Center Fielder #11
Chourio is in left field and batting second as he makes his long-awaited season debut on Monday evening against the Cardinals after missing nearly six weeks to open the year recovering from a fractured hand. The 22-year-old fantasy superstar is ready to roll following an injury scare when he fouled a ball off his foot during his final minor league rehab contest over the weekend. He’ll provide a much-needed lift for Milwaukee, and fantasy managers as well, after recording back-to-back 20-homer, 20-steal campaigns to kick off his career.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
So much for him being scratched from his start for precautionary reasons. As of now, there is no set timeline for Skubal’s absence, but Edwin Diaz is being sidelined for three months after undergoing the same surgery. That means we could expect Skubal back in August as a best-case scenario. That’s a brutal blow for the Tigers and fantasy managers, and, potentially, Skubal’s free agent market.
  • SF 1st Baseman #8
Eldridge will get another shot after batting .333/.445/.518 for Sacramento, but his return really complicates things, what with his replacement, Casey Schmitt, being arguably the Giants’ best player to date. All of the team’s veteran infielders are used to being everyday players, and it’s hard to imagine any will be happy sitting once or twice per week to make room for Eldridge at first and DH, even if it’s the right call for the team. Rodriguez has started at catcher, second base and in left field this year, so he offers a lot more versatility than Eldridge and will be an easier fit. Still, we’re not sure either rates a pickup in mixed leagues at this point. Eldridge has the potential, but he’ll stay the bench against lefties and possibly the occasional righty.
