Mayo catapulted Baltimore ahead with a three-run blast off Yankees reliever Brent Headrick after they were completely flummoxed by lefty Ryan Weathers for six-plus frames to open the contest. It was his fourth long ball of the season and first time leaving the yard since April 24. The 24-year-old former top prospect was a late addition to the lineup at DH after Samuel Basallo was scratched with knee discomfort.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #40
Weathers carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning before finally relenting a leadoff single to Adley Rutschman and was lifted from the contest after issuing a free pass to Tyler O’Neill on his 101st pitch of the contest. The 26-year-old southpaw generated 15 swinging strikes and fell just shy of recording his second double-digit strikeout performance of his Yankees debut. Not too bad for someone who lost nearly 10 pounds due to a viral infection last week. He was forced to settle for a no-decision after Brent Headrick served up a go-ahead homer following his departure. He’s certainly making it challenging for New York to consider moving him to the bullpen once Gerrit Cole (elbow) is ready to return in a couple weeks. He’ll close out a two-start week with a favorable matchup against the crosstown Mets on Sunday.
  • NYM Center Fielder
With their season trending in the wrong direction, the Mets will turn to Ewing to provide a spark after just 12 games at the Triple-A level. The 21-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a phenomenal start this season in the upper minors, slashing .339/.447/.514 with two homers and 17 steals in 30 games. His top-of-the-scale speed makes him a weapon on the basepaths and should provide a pathway to immediate fantasy relevance following a 70-steal campaign last year in the minors. He’s more of a line-drive hitter than an over-the-fence power threat but he projects as a top-of-the-order table-setter capable of hitting for average and stealing bases. He’s at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats.
  • PHI Left Fielder #12
Schwarber is tied with Aaron Judge for the MLB lead at 16 homers, with Munetaka Murakami right behind the duo at 15. Schwarber is striking out a little more than typical to begin 2026, but he’s also barreling the ball at a higher-than-normal clip. The Phillies open a three-game series at Fenway Park on Tuesday.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #62
Webb was expected to make his next start Monday after dealing with the knee last time out, but given his struggles this season, a two-start break seems like a better idea. Trevor McDonald will fill in for him and start either Monday or Tuesday against the Dodgers.
  • AZ Left Fielder #73
Waldschmidt appears poised for an everyday role with Arizona after the club moved on from Alek Thomas prior to Friday’s series opener. The 23-year-old top prospect came off the bench to record his first career hit, smashing a 95.9-mph single to left field in the eighth inning. He’ll likely strike out more than fantasy managers would like early on, but the power/speed upside makes him worth a speculative add in all formats. Simply put, Waldschmidt brings an appealing mix of fantasy-relevant tools and now finds himself in a favorable situation with a clear path to regular at-bats. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #26
It’s a significant loss for Minnesota, and fantasy managers, since Bradley has been pitching extremely well, allowing two earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts this season. He’s posted a strong 2.87 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 52/17 K/BB ratio across 47 innings during that span. There is no timetable for 25-year-old former top pitching prospect yet, but he’s likely facing a multi-week absence, even in a best-case scenario. It’ll likely be Zebby Matthews coming up from Triple-A to take his rotation spot next week.
  • CLE Catcher #14
The stunning early-season trade is now official. Bailey is universally regarded as one of the top defensive specialists in the entire game and should immediately strengthen Cleveland’s entire pitching staff. The 26-year-old backstop is a non-factor at the plate, but he’s a two-time Gold Glove Award winner and seems to fit the mold of what the Guardians front office is looking for in a defensive-oriented starting catcher. It’ll be Bo Naylor heading to Triple-A while veteran Austin Hedges sticks around as his caddy. Bailey’s departure means the Giants are going to roll with youngsters Daniel Susac and Jesus Rodríguez as their catching tandem moving forward.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #32
Misiorowski is an alien. That’s the only explanation for his first inning where his fastball averaged 103 mph. Yes, averaged 103 mph. All he threw were fastballs and missed an immaculate inning by about an inch when Aaron Judge laid off a tough pitch. While his velocity tapered off following that inning, his effectiveness didn’t. Only two runners managed to reach scoring position and was able to put all three of his pitches wherever he wanted to. He’s now gone back-to-back starts without giving up a run and has a 2.45 ERA and outrageous 70:17 strikeout to walk ratio across 44 innings this season. His next start is scheduled to come at home against the Padres.
  • AZ Left Fielder #73
Alek Thomas goes to make room. Waldschmidt, 23, will get his chance after just 34 games in Triple-A in which he hit .289/.400/.477 with three homers and six steals. His strikeout rate was 24.4 percent, which is big jump from his mark of 17.6 percent between High-A and Double-A last year. He’s pretty interesting for fantasy purposes right away, but odds are that he’s not ready just yet. His hard-hit rate in Triple-A was a modest 33 percent.
