Commanders Clips
The Eagles have agreed to terms with cornerback Jonathan Jones on a one-year deal, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.
Jones, 32, spent last season with the Commanders after nine seasons with the Patriots.
In 2025, he played 12 games with seven starts, seeing action on 484 defensive snaps and 39 on special teams. Jones totaled 41 tackles, one sack and five pass breakups.
Jones appeared in 132 games, with 71 starts, in his time in New England.
For his career, he has recorded 477 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 62 pass breakups and 10 forced fumbles.
The Commanders are adding an experienced running back.
According to multiple reports, Rachaad White is signing a one-year deal with Washington.
White, 27, just completed his rookie contract with the Buccaneers. In 2025, he appeared in all 17 games with eight starts. He rushed for 572 yards with four touchdowns and caught 40 passes for 218 yards.
The deal will reunite White with quarterback Jayden Daniels, as the two were college teammates at Arizona State.
In his 67 career games with 48 starts, White has rushed for 2,656 yards with 14 touchdowns. He’s also caught 205 passes for 1,450 yards with 11 touchdowns.
The Bengals are adding a veteran defensive tackle.
According to multiple reports, Jonathan Allen has agreed to a two-year deal with Cincinnati.
The initial numbers indicate Allen’s contract is worth a maximum of $28 million with incentives.
Allen, 31, had spent his first eight seasons with Washington before signing a three-year deal with Minnesota last offseason. he was subsequently released by the Vikings earlier this week.
In 2025, Allen started all 17 games for Minnesota, recording 68 total tackles with seven tackles for loss, 11 quarterback hits, and 3.5 sacks.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Allen has registered 45.5 sacks, 67 tackles for loss, and 129 QB hits over the course of his career.
The Commanders will retain a member of their offensive line.
According to multiple reports, they have agreed to terms on a new deal with Trent Scott. It is a one-year deal for the eight-year veteran.
Scott has spent the last three of those seasons in Washington. He has played 35 games and made six starts, including three of his eight appearances during the 2025 season.
The Commanders have also re-signed Andrew Wylie and released center Tyler Biadasz this month. Left guard Chris Paul remains a free agent, but left tackle Laremy Tunsil, right tackle Josh Conerly and right guard Sam Cosmi are set to return along with interior lineman Nick Allegretti.
The big-spending Titans are not done making moves in free agency.
Tennessee has agreed to a two-year contract with former Washington defensive end Jacob Martin, according to multiple reports.
The 30-year-old Martin has had a circuitous NFL career: Originally a 2018 sixth-round pick of the Seahawks, he has also played for the Texans, Jets, Broncos, Texans again, Colts and Bears before signing with the Commanders last year. The Titans will be his eighth NFL team.
Last season may have been the best of Martin’s career: He played in all 17 games, starting 14, and recorded a career-high 5.5 sacks. The Titans will hope to see him continue to improve as another piece in an overhauled Tennessee roster.
Free agent defensive end Charles Omenihu agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal with the Commanders on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. The deal includes $3 million in incentives.
Omenihu, 28, has spent the past three seasons with the Chiefs.
In 2025, he played all 17 games and tied his career-high with 28 tackles. Omenihu also contributed 3.5 sacks and 13 quarterback hits.
He has only 12 starts in seven seasons and last started a game in 2024 but could start opponent Tim Settle with the Commanders.
Omenihu entered the league as a fifth-round pick of the Texans in 2019 and also has spent time with the 49ers as well as the Chiefs.
In his career, Omenihu has totaled 129 tackles and 23 sacks.
Running back Chris Rodriguez was not tendered as a restricted free agent by the Commanders and he’s found a new place to play.
According to multiple reports, Rodriguez has agreed to terms with the Jaguars on a two-year deal. Rodriguez was at Kentucky when Jaguars head coach Liam Coen was the school’s offensive coordinator in 2021.
Rodriguez ran 112 times for 500 yards and six touchdowns with the Commanders in 2025. He had 86 carries for 430 yards and four scores in his first two seasons.
The Jaguars saw Travis Etienne sign with the Saints this week, so Rodriguez will join Bayshul Tuten, LeQuint Allen, and DeeJay Dallas on the backfield depth chart for Jacksonville.
The Commanders have agreed to terms with tight end Chig Okonkwo and safety Nick Cross, NFL Media reports.
Okonkwo, 26, will receive a three-year deal but terms were not disclosed.
He ranks 93rd on PFT’s top-100 free agents list.
The Titans made Okonkwo a fourth-round choice in 2022, and he played 68 games, with 42 starts, in his four seasons in Tennessee. He has 194 receptions for 2,017 yards and eight touchdowns in his career.
Cross, 24, will sign a two-year deal worth up to $14 million, per NFL Media.
The Colts made Cross a third-round pick in 2022, and he appeared in 67 games, with 38 starts, in his four seasons in Indianapolis.
He has totaled 322 tackles, 3.5 sacks, five interceptions, 12 pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson has found a team for the 2026 season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chaisson has agreed to sign with the Commanders. It is a one-year deal worth $12 million in Washington.
Chaisson spent the 2025 season with the Patriots and helped them win the AFC East by recording 7.5 sacks during the regular season. He had three more sacks as New England advanced through the postseason to the Super Bowl.
The Jaguars made Chaisson the 20th overall pick in 2020 and he had five sacks in four years with Jacksonville. He had five sacks for the Raiders in 2024 and will now try to continue growing his production in the NFC East.
